Be Careful Where You Park

Somebody hates this car...

Somebody has anger issues...

Somebody should have been more careful where he parked

Work moves at Lightning Speed... Somedays

Roads are terrible here. More potholes than you can imagine. But when they decide to fix something, the jobs get done fast. They are building a much needed sidewalk through our little town of red Hook. In only a couple weeks, they have added several hundred yards of sidewalk, and more added every day. Hard working crew.

But when they do not decide to work, it moves slowly... in fact, I saw this much needed piece of machinery first day I moved to my new condo a few weeks ago... has not moved since, and appears to have not moved for months.

Plenty of work for ya, Harley!

Shopping for Mother's Day

Here's Jackie checking out a local vendor's wares...

There was even a local food vendor who played a little island music on his drums in between customers...

All set up in a parking lot...

When you care enough to shop for the very best... Happy Mother's Day

Always a shock to see them, and now they are having babies!

Left over from the pirate days, there are indeed a small herd of deer on our end of the island. And the herd has just increased by one fawn.

Look close... there are three of em n this photo

It's just a house I see when I walk somedays

Don't know anything about this house, I just like to look at it...

Look at the courtyard...

And, not the least... Here's the view from the house.

Does anyone know what the laws are about Squatters?

See the beautiful yellow house? Up close, it is even more spectacular.

But this is about the house above... Well, the shell of a house anyway.

This shell is on my favorite route to walk. I have been doing the walk for over a month, and no one is ever working on the place...

Nothing ever changes... What supplies that are there have not moved...

Someday, it's gonna be fabulous... BIG rooms, with wrap around deck, spectacular views...

In fact, I took this picture from what will be the Master Bedroom.

Sure, it needs a little work, but if no one else wants it, I'll take it.

High School

Big Complex...

Seems quiet from back here...

Look close at the uniforms...

Girls... and yes, even the boys, all dressed in pink.

There are two high schools on the island. The other school dresses in blue uniforms.

I guess you do see this more often than you would think

We found out what they are doing... Besides looking like they were having fun...

It's race season. So the horses are exercised in the mornings, and then brought to the bay to be cooled down.

So, about every other day, depending on what time of day, the horse trailer is there...

And the horses are there...

My money is on the one on the left.

Someone had an Accident - and one more Iguana Photo

St Thomas must have the best drivers in the world. I have not seen a single car accident since I got to the island. There are no straight aways, no passing because you can never see around the next curve... Everything is on a hill and the condition of the roads are an embarrassment. There should be more accidents than what there are.

BUT...

I have just never been around when a car accident happened. Every single car has a dent or ding, half the bumpers on the island have a serious dent, one third of the side mirrors are busted off. When you rent a car, the insurance is $18 a day (higher than I have ever paid anywhere else).

And the mail boxes that were in a neat row, convenient for the post office trucks to deliver mail and not get out of their car are now lined up on the ground...

Mail is still delivered in them.

And despite promising mo more Iguana photos... here's one more...

See the baby!

You don't see this everyday

Anybody see anything in the water???

Look close...

Yeap, I've seen dogs swimming almost every day... Locals and tourists... Old and young... Everybody enjoys our Caribbean Seashore and a dip in the Atlantic...

Even this guy and his friend Flicka... um maybe his friend Flipper!

Old Friends still pop up

It has been several weeks since I photographed every iguana I see. They still fascinate me, but how many iguana photos do I need...

I guess at least one more.

This guy lives in the rocks by our condo. He is there almost every day.

This is the 4th deer I have seen on the island. I was out walking and suddenly he was there... about 10 feet from me...

He even paused to strike a pose as he slowly ambled away...

OK, I promise, no more Deer or Iguana pictures for at least a month.

Sunrise While I Walk

I have started to walk a little earlier in the day... Cooler and I get to see the sunrise...

Turn a little different angle and new colors!

It almost makes you forget how early it is... but just almost.
