Be Careful Where You Park

Somebody hates this car...

Somebody has anger issues...

Somebody should have been more careful where he parked

Under the Sea - New Fish

Class was in Session, but it was getting a little rough... Here's an angle you don't see often. Houses on our point, as seen from sea level about 200 yards from shore...

Work moves at Lightning Speed... Somedays

Roads are terrible here. More potholes than you can imagine. But when they decide to fix something, the jobs get done fast. They are building a much needed sidewalk through our little town of red Hook. In only a couple weeks, they have added several hundred yards of sidewalk, and more added every day. Hard working crew.

But when they do not decide to work, it moves slowly... in fact, I saw this much needed piece of machinery first day I moved to my new condo a few weeks ago... has not moved since, and appears to have not moved for months.

Plenty of work for ya, Harley!

Orchids

Who could not love this flower...

Anyone know what this is? There are laws about getting flowers from here to Kansas. I am enamored with the idea of growing these at home... any help???

All pretty... But I still like him best...

Outdoor Craft Fair

Last Saturday, we stumbled on an outdoor craft fair... Jackie loved the hand finished wood flower vases...

I especially enjoyed this guy selling wooden serving dishes, he had beautiful cutting boards as well.

But the real star of the show was this display of orchids.

A Lazy Sunday Afternoon

A little tanning, while watching the sailing lessons. Quite a learning opportunity to navigate those little sail boats around all the boats in our bay. Not everyone is successful. Fun to watch.

Got a little snorkeling in to see the pretty fishes...

Just a lazy Sunday around the condo!

Shopping for Mother's Day

Here's Jackie checking out a local vendor's wares...

There was even a local food vendor who played a little island music on his drums in between customers...

All set up in a parking lot...

When you care enough to shop for the very best... Happy Mother's Day

Dinner and a sporting event

We are starting to schedule our dinners around...

The VERY COMPETITIVE doubles play of these 4 seniors. they play every other night, and we have a great view of 3/4ers of the court.

They take several breaks to replenish fluids...

My theory, there's Mai Tai's in the water bottles.

On a Clear Day you can See - St John

It's been a little hazy around here lately. The winds were blowing dust from Africa, without any rain to wash it away, it settles on the first thing that breaks up the air patterns... The Caribbean Islands.

But for the last two mornings, we woke up to rain. It clears off quickly, just enough to clean the air...

The shot above is pushing my camera to the max, but just beyond the boats in my bay, those are the houses on St John, about 10 miles from my deck...

This guy flew into our yard while I was taking the photos of St John.

A nice day

Jackie is Making Friends

Jackie waits for the cab to take her to the inconvenient day job. This cat is a mascot to the Yacht club (the club is next to our condo complex).

Sure hope she doesn't name him.
